How did the idea come about?
After getting into the home barista hobby, you may find yourself experimenting with different drinks, from espresso to pour over to matcha. Well, at least this was the case for Jon & Zee.
Regular, generic mats just didn't make the cut. It was too small and didn't have the right compartments to fit the respective tools. Furthermore, the mats in the market were designed for cafes, not homes.
After months of brainstorming, designing and sampling, a mat truly made for home baristas was born.
Now you can finally have a mat that fits all your accessories in one place and your coffee bar will look neater than ever.

What brew methods does this mat support?
The mat is designed around three brew methods - espresso, pour over, and matcha. The puck prep top mat organises your espresso accessories, while the pour over top mat accommodates drippers, carafes, chawans, and pitchers. Swap between them in seconds depending on your brew of the day.
Is this suitable for beginners?
Yes - in fact, having an organized station from the start builds better habits. Everything has a designated spot, so your workflow feels natural rather than chaotic, even when you're still finding your feet with the hobby.
What is included in the set?
The set comes with three pieces:
- A puck prep section for your espresso tools (tampers, distributors, dosing rings, etc).
- A pour over/matcha section for carafe, drippers, chawan or cups.
- A large base mat that holds everything together and doubles as a bar mat.
You can use them together or separately, depending on your setup.
How does the Modular Barista Mat work?
The top sections were designed to slide onto the base mat - allowing for flexibility to change mats based on brew types.
What material is it made of and is it easy to clean?
The mat is crafted from durable, food-safe silicone that’s heat-resistant, slip-resistant, and easy to clean.
Simply rinse with warm water and mild soap, or wipe down after use.
Will it fit my coffee tools?
The compartments are designed to fit up to 58mm home barista tools, including tampers, distributors, and portafilters, as well as common pour over drippers and matcha bowls.
Do I need to buy all three pieces?
The mat comes as a set of three so you’ll have maximum flexibility — but feel free to use any section that best fit your daily coffee routine.
